Application for Uni Graz
NOMINATION BY THE HOME UNIVERSITY
If your university has a bilateral or network agreement with the University of Graz, you need to first contact the international office at your home university to be nominated for an exchange.
If selected by your home university for a stay at the University of Graz, your coordinator will nominate you to the responsible program coordinator at the University of Graz (see details below). The nomination must include the following information for each student:
- First name as it appears in the passport
- Last name as it appears in the passport
- Student’s email address
- Semester/s student is nominated for
- Official name of home university
- Field/s and level of study

ONLINE APPLICATION and SENDING OF DOCUMENTS
Upon nomination by the home university you will be contacted by the UniGraz program coordinator and provided with the guidelines and your personal code for the online application via email.
Please complete the online application (step 1) and then send the relevant documents as described in the guidelines to the University of Graz by the application deadline (step 2):
- 1 November – for the following summer semester (receiving deadline)
- 1 June – for the following winter semester (receiving deadline)
Note that the sooner you send the application the sooner the University of Graz can take the next steps for preparing your stay!
As soon as your complete application arrives in Graz we send out your acceptance letter and in case you need to apply for a visa or residence permit the necessary confirmation letter as well as a welcome pack to your address.
ATTENTION:
Master/PhD-students: The decision whether you can be enrolled in the field and level of study shown in your application is taken by the admissions office oft he University of Graz based on your complete application as handed in to the Office of International Relations via surface mail. Incomplete applications will necessarily lead to a delay! Detailed information concerning the mandatory documents can be found in the online application.
Translation/interpretation/transcultural communication with German: Note that an application for „translation/interpretation/transcultural communication with German” is only possible if you are enrolled in a similar degree at your home university.
Priority of acceptance into courses in these study areas:
- Students studying translation/interpretation/transcultural communication with German or German Studies at the home university
- Students studying linguistics at the home university (German level must be at least B2)
