The total student participation fee is € 1.500,00 covering course costs, tuition, room & board (double, triple or quad rooms, 3 meals per day) for the entire two weeks, and the excursion to Graz. Please check the list below as various scholarship schemes are available that you might qualify for. Even though you might not have the financial means to participate, do not hesitate to apply! Funding and scholarships will be available!
There are special arrangements for CEEPUS students:
CEEPUS students only pay a total amount of € 120,00 for the whole summer school. This is a contribution towards the costs of room & board.
CEEPUS students receive a CEEPUS scholarship and an additional University of Graz scholarship for CEEPUS students.

The Summer School offers a scholarship for University of Graz students (including Uni Graz incoming students). Uni Graz and incoming students are automatically considered for the Uni Graz scholarship.

The University of Graz offers a further scholarship for academic excellence, that certain students might qualify for.
--> Participation fee: € 700,00
Please note that if your home institution/country is mentioned in more than one scholarship scheme, you can still only be awarded one of the scholarships (the higher one, you pay less). No double funding is available.
We are constantly working on finding funds for future participants. Information about scholarship schemes will be updated regularly.
In order to receive a CEEPUS scholarship, after applying for the Summer School, you have to apply for funding directly with CEEPUS. You can contact the CEEPUS coordinator (your local NCO) at your home university for more information. As soon as you have registered with the network, please contact our CEEPUS coordinator Mag. Xaver Hergenröther from the University of Graz.

The David-Herzog-Fonds of the Styrian Universities has generously agreed to fund five students to participate in the Jewish Culture and Modernity module (SM05). The full scholarships cover the total participation cost of 1.500 Euros and are awarded upon academic merit. For more information please refer to the PDF.
80% of your tuition fee will be refunded in case of:
- Illness (you must provide a medical report),
- Severe illness or death of a close relative (i.e. parents, siblings, spouse/partner, children; you must provide a medical report).
No other reasons for reimbursement will be accepted!
After the selection process, accepted students will receive further information regarding payment (bank account number etc.) via email. Bank transactions have to be completed by April 8th, 2019.
Please keep in mind that in case of international money transfers banks may charge service fees which have to be covered in full by the students. The University of Graz will not assume any charges for students’ money transfers and the summer school fee has to be received in full.
All students are responsible for their own travel arrangements. You can either travel directly to Seggau by car, or to the Leibnitz train station (close to Seggau Castle). If you arrive by plane (Vienna, Graz) you are requested to take the train to the Leibnitz train Station, from where shuttles will be provided to the summer school venue on arrival and departure day. Students must arrive before 6 pm on the arrival day.
