Mobility start

The Welcome Events will support you in completing your enrollment at the University of Graz and get your academic stay off to a good start. More information about the various events and procedures will be provided during registration session.

To help you find your way around the campus more easily we have created a >>campus map<< for you

In order to allow for a smooth transition into student life at University of Graz the Office of International Relations organizes a series of information sessions and activities before the semester actually starts. These Welcome Events support incoming students in the administrative matters they have to take care of at the beginning of their stay while at the same time providing a networking opportunity.

Welcome Events in the winter semester are offered twice - at the beginning of September (recommended for students who are participating in the German intensive course) and Mid-February respectively. Your documents are available in the context of the respective Welcome Week you have signed up for in the context of your online application.

Welcome Events in the summer semester for students starting their mobility in the summer semester take place in Mid-February.

The Welcome Week offers support in enrollment at the University of Graz, Insurance sign-up as well as Residence Permit Issues for Non-EU/EEA students, information on the UNIGRAZonline system, course and exam registration and also provides the opportunity to discuss any academic questions with Academic Advisors.

Participation in the Welcome Weeks is MANDATORY for mobility students! Do NOT make any other appointments during that time.

The academic advising sessions during Welcome Weeks offer the opportunity to discuss your course selection with the academic advisor(s) of the study program(s) you are enrolled in at University of Graz. Students are strongly advised to make use of these sessions and come well prepared with their list of intended courses and any questions relating to them.

Erasmus+ Students: Make sure your Learning Agreement and any changes are signed by the academic advisor (template: “departmental coordinator”) by the end of your stay. In case your template also needs the signature of a “ institutional coordinator”, your contact person in the international office will sign the form after the academic advisor has signed it.

This insurance does NOT cover you for your trip to Graz at the beginning and from Graz at the end of your stay. It also does NOT include medical evacuation and repatriation during your stay. Students are responsible for arranging for insurance coverage for the trip to Graz and back and for medical evacuation and repatriation by themselves.
