This new Erasmus+ funding programme enables doctoral students at the University of Graz to undertake a physical mobility of 5-30 days. The mobility may be a study visit or an internship. The focus of this type of mobility is on education and training, not on research and innovation. A stay for research purposes and cooperation is possible (confirmed by the host university), conference participation is not eligible for funding.
This mobility can also be combined with a virtual component, similar to Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes.
Applications for available places can be submitted on an ongoing basis, with a deadline of 2 months at the latest.

Financial support
Duration of physical mobility | Daily financial support in Euro |
5–14 days | 79 |
15–30 days | 56 |
This additional financial support option applies to
- Students with children who accompany their parents during the mobility
- Students with disabilities (if you have a disability pass)
- Students with health problems (e.g. serious illnesses, chronic illnesses or other physical or mental conditions that prevent or hinder participation in the programme) if this results in increased financial expenditure during the study abroad period (compared to a mobility period in the home country) - this health condition must already exist before the start of the mobility period (Allergies and food intolerances are excluded)
For mobilities lasting between 5 and 14 days, the top-up is a one-off payment of EUR 100; for mobilities lasting between 15 and 30 days, the top-up is a one-off payment of EUR 150.
The inclusion support (in addition to the Top-up for students with fewer opportunities) is intended to cover additional costs related to students with physical, mental or health-related conditions. The costs are covered on a real cost basis. Please contact the International Office for more information: erasmus.outgoing(at)uni-graz.at.
From the academic year 2024/25 on, Erasmus+ students will have the possibility to apply for travel support, calculated by the Erasmus+ Distance Calculator. The distance between the University of Graz to your host institution (or, if applicable, to the campus you will study at abroad) will be taken into account.
Students, that travel more than half of the way (back and forth) with a green mean of transport (bus, bike, carpooling, train), will get a higher travel support. For green travel, up to 6 additional granted traveldays may be awarded. One travelday is one calendar day.
Below 500 km, please consider travelling with low-emission means of transport (green travel)!
For students, who will go abroad with the Erasmus+ program in the academic year 2025/26, the following applies:
In case you receive travel support from other funding sources (e.g. travel grant as part of the Austrian study grant for stays abroad, BAföG, etc.), you are not eligible for the Erasmus+ travel support.
We will send you detailed information about the eligibility for travel support via email.
The grant is paid in two instalments: 75 % before the mobility and 25 % after the end of the BIP, when all documents have been handed in.
